Sabz Bagh

Sabz Bagh’ (the grass is always greener on the other side) is a search to find the perfect garden, also referred as ‘Jannah, which in Islamic philosophy, is the idea of having abundance and prosperity in life here and after. The imagery is often inspired by borders in Mughal miniature paintings, which represent the same idea of a perfect garden. I have used symbols from flora, fauna and golden orbs referencing to the efforts as an immigrant to Canada in search of opportunities and a better future.
